VMWare expands presence in Ireland as 205 jobs are created


Technology company VMware will create 205 new jobs in Ireland as it expands its presence in Dublin over the next three years.

The new jobs build on VMware’s established operations in Ireland, which is already the company’s third largest location in the world with more than 1,000 employees.

The company opened its first Irish office in Cork in 2005.

VMware said it draws on the country’s “highly skilled workforce,” including graduate-level engineers, project managers and developers, to drive further global innovation around its multi-cloud platform and the way enterprises consume cloud services .

It added that Vice President of Engineering Andrei Grigoriev has been appointed to lead the team in Ireland.

The new investment here is supported by IDA Ireland.

While the team will have a hub in Dublin, the new VMware employees will have the opportunity to “work anywhere,” which the company believes maximizes productivity, morale, performance and team cohesion.
