Broadcom’s $61 billion bid for VMware has tech CEOs chatting about what could happen if the gargantuan deal goes through.

The mega deal between Broadcom and VMware has loosened the tongues of tech CEOs who are betting that if the resulting company can keep innovation alive, it will retain its customers despite some churn.

“My gut is they’re going to gain some and they’re going to lose some,” IBM chief executive Arvind Krishna told CRN last week. “The virtualization world likes these products. Now it’s up to them to keep innovating.”
