VMware addresses significant security flaws in key products

VMware has released patches for four vulnerabilities affecting its Workstation and Fusion products, versions 17.x and 13.x. These vulnerabilities could allow malicious actors to steal sensitive information, conduct denial-of-service attacks, and execute malicious code. Users are advised to install the patches immediately or implement workarounds to mitigate the risks. Earlier this year, Chinese hackers were reported to have exploited a zero-day vulnerability in VMware devices to deploy malware and steal data. The vulnerabilities were first reported during the Pwn2Own 2024 Security Contest. VMware has a history of patching critical vulnerabilities in its products, and users are encouraged to stay up to date with software updates to protect their systems from cyber threats.
