VivaTech 2024: Honor Embraces AI on MagicOS and Partners with Google

Honor CEO George Zhao was honored on stage at the VivaTech 2024 event, with the announcement of Honor’s new 4-layer AI architecture for MagicOS, the company’s Android skin. Partnering with Google Cloud, Honor aims to deliver Gen-AI experiences on its devices and enhance vertical experiences with AI. The 4-layer AI architecture allows for AI integration across devices and operating systems, creating an “open ecosystem” that personalizes phone interactions with resource allocation and intent-based human-computer interaction. By utilizing generative AI at the application level, Honor seeks to improve user experience and provide Gen-AI experiences with the help of Google’s Cloud AI.

Through a partnership with Harcourt Studio in Paris, Honor is focusing on perfecting AI-enhanced portrait experiences on their upcoming Honor 200 series of smartphones. Unlike other companies that partner with camera manufacturers, Honor is leveraging the studio’s experience in portrait photography to enhance their devices’ portrait capabilities. By using AI to analyze a vast amount of portrait data from Harcourt Studio, Honor aims to replicate the studio’s portrait photography process in nine distinct steps, promising a unique portrait experience for users.

The Honor 200 series, available for reservation in China, features a two-tone design and a smaller front camera cutout compared to the Magic 6 Pro. Both the Honor 200 and 200 Pro models boast a 50 MP main camera and a 5,200 mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.

Overall, Honor’s focus on AI integration, strategic partnerships, and innovative features in their new products position them as a key player in the evolving smartphone market. The company’s commitment to delivering personalized experiences and pushing the boundaries of technology through AI showcases their dedication to staying competitive and meeting the evolving needs of consumers in an increasingly AI-driven world.
