Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training has partnered with Intel to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) training course for university lecturers in Hanoi. This initiative is part of Intel’s Artificial Intelligence for the Future Workforce Program and marks the first collaboration between the Ministry and the global tech company as outlined in a memorandum of understanding aimed at advancing digitalization in education.
The training course, consisting of 225 hours, will benefit 27 professors from eight science and technology universities in Hanoi. The objective is to equip these educators with the necessary skills to integrate AI-related content into their teaching curriculum, thereby preparing a workforce proficient in AI for the country. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son emphasized the importance of AI in enhancing daily life worldwide and highlighted the need for Vietnam’s education sector to align with this technological trend. He expressed gratitude for Intel’s support in advancing AI education within the country and proposed expanding the training program to other universities. Additionally, Son suggested that Intel assist in establishing artificial intelligence research labs in Vietnam.
Intel has demonstrated its commitment to collaborating with Vietnam in the realm of digitalization and AI training. Intel Corporation CEO Brian Gonzalez assured Education and Training Minister Nguyen Kim Son that the training program would encompass AI-related content while emphasizing ethical and responsible conduct. Furthermore, Intel Vietnam Country Manager of Sales, Marketing and Communications Group Phuong Viet Thang disclosed the company’s plans to support Vietnamese software firms in optimizing AI-powered PC features, leveraging the nation’s tech-savvy and adaptive population, particularly among the younger demographic.
