It took a U.S. President to convince Venmo to permanently update the privacy settings in its payment app and allow people to stay hidden if they so choose.
As reported by Engadget, Venmo has started rolling out a new feature that will allow users to hide their friends list from other people. With the new feature, users can choose to have their friends list only visible to their friends or only to themselves.
The setting “public” (visible to all) will most likely remain the default setting, it said. This means that all Venmo users will still be able to see everyone else’s friend list unless the users go into their settings and change them.
Also, Venmo added an option that allows users to choose whether or not to appear on other people’s friend lists. This is also disabled by default.
