US Supreme Court not considering Amazon websites’ victory in patent case

(Reuters) – The US Supreme Court on Monday upheld a victory for Inc and Amazon-hosted websites against a patent company that was suing the websites for infringement after it dropped a case against the tech giant.

A federal appeals court in 2020 found that PersonalWeb Technologies LLC could not bring subsequent lawsuits against multiple Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers, citing patent doctrine dating back to 1907. On Monday, the Supreme Court denied PersonalWeb’s challenge to the Regulation.
