Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) users reported an outage in the London region late last week, despite complaints from Register Dear readers, Big Red is silent.
There is a philosophical thought experiment: “If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one around to hear it, does it make a sound?” The same could apply to cloud providers: If a cloud falls over but only a few people use it, has it really fallen over?
In the case of OCI, something happened on Friday. The company’s status page notes that everything is fine, and when we reached out to the company for this story, it declined to comment.
However, Register Starting around 12:30 p.m. local time, readers noticed something was wrong. One told us: “On Friday our Fusion production system disappeared for almost 10 minutes, then came back but was very slow.”
