The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is investigating Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s proposed acquisition of Juniper Networks for $14 billion. The CMA is concerned about potential anti-competitive conditions and has invited comments from interested parties. Hewlett Packard aims to enhance its AI offerings by acquiring Juniper, with the deal expected to be finalized by the end of 2024. The CMA has until August 14 to decide on further investigation. If successful, the acquisition will give Hewlett Packard access to Juniper’s AI-native networking business, allowing it to compete with industry leaders in cloud, AI, and data centers.
