HPE’s planned acquisition of Juniper Networks worth $14 billion is being investigated by the UK’s competition authority to determine if it will reduce competition in the UK market. The investigation will last until August 14, with a decision on moving to a second phase expected then. HPE announced in January that it would acquire Juniper for $40 per share in cash. Juniper, a networking products company based in California, reported revenue of $5.6 billion in 2023. HPE cited the increasing demand for AI and cloud-driven solutions as the reason for the acquisition, with Juniper CEO Rami Rahim set to lead HPE’s networking business post-acquisition. Juniper’s CEO expressed excitement about joining forces with HPE and maximizing value for shareholders.
