Ubiquti, a manufacturer of network devices and IoT devices, recently informed its customers about a security breach.
In a recent email to customers posted on company forums, the company announced that it had gained unauthorized access to some IT systems hosted by an undisclosed third-party cloud provider.
The company, a large supplier of cloud-enabled devices such as routers, network video recorders, cameras, and access control systems, states that there is no evidence that unauthorized users have accessed a user account.
In addition, the company said it had no evidence that the attacker accessed databases that store user data. However, the company did not confirm that this data was not available.
“This data may include your name, email address, and the one-way encrypted password for your account (technically the passwords are hashed and salted),” the company said.
“The data can also contain your address and telephone number, if you have given us this information.”
