Donald Trump said Friday he would order all federal agencies to “immediately stop” all use of anthropic technology.
The Defense Department and Anthropic have reached an impasse, with neither side backing down as the deadline for an agreement expires Friday afternoon. The Pentagon is demanding that the artificial intelligence company relax ethical guidelines for its AI systems or face serious consequences, the government says.
Trump spoke out just an hour before the deadline, saying on Truth Social: “The left-wing lunatics at Anthropic made a catastrophic mistake when they tried to heavily arm the War Department and force it to abide by their terms of service and not our Constitution.”
“WE will decide the fate of our country – NOT some out-of-control, left-wing AI company run by people who have no idea what the real world is about,” Trump wrote.
