Truecaller is introducing a new personal voice feature powered by AI that will allow users to create a digital version of their own voice to greet callers and identify the purpose of their call. The feature is part of Truecaller’s AI assistant and is supported by Microsoft’s Azure AI voice technology.
This new feature aims to create a more engaging experience for callers interacting with the virtual assistant, enabling users to answer calls with their own voice rather than a synthetic digital assistant voice. Users can record their voice for a few seconds during the AI assistant setup process to activate the feature. They can also customize the greeting template, with a digital watermark from Microsoft Azure to prevent misuse of the personal voice.
According to Truecaller, this feature is a significant step towards providing a personalized and engaging communication experience for users. Raphael Mimoun, the product director and general manager of Trucaller Israel, emphasized that the personal voice feature allows users to make their digital assistant sound like them when handling incoming calls, adding familiarity and convenience to the interaction.
To use the personal voice feature, users need to access the Truecaller Assistant settings and select the Personal Voice option. The feature will initially be available to paid users through a public beta in countries like India, the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Chile in the near future.
As a milestone achievement, Livemint has ranked as the world’s fastest-growing news website, with 3.6 million Indian visitors in a single day during the general election results. To stay updated on the latest technology news, users can download the Mint News App for daily market updates and live business news.
Overall, Truecaller’s new personal voice feature enhances user experience by allowing them to interact with the AI assistant using their own voice, showcasing the power of AI to transform digital assistant interactions.
