To address this issue, Amazon Web Services has developed an AI live commentary solution in collaboration with Sportec AG Solutions. This solution generates real-time commentary in multiple languages and writing styles simultaneously during Bundesliga matches. Leveraging serverless technology on AWS, the solution can handle multiple matches seamlessly while also being cost-effective. The architecture of the solution involves capturing live event data, processing it with AWS Lambda functions, using Amazon Bedrock to generate commentary, and publishing it through AWS AppSync for real-time updates. The entire process takes between 7 and 12 seconds to complete, making it suitable for synchronous video distribution.
In the future, AWS and Sportec Solutions plan to enhance the AI Commentary solution by integrating more data sources, incorporating engaging narratives into live tickers, and introducing new features such as match previews and post-match reports. This technology opens up possibilities for generative AI beyond text generation, including audio for play-by-play updates with lifelike voices and visual assets like dynamic images.
