Top university says US-Israeli attack targeted Iran’s advances and AI learning

Tehran, Iran – The head of Iran’s top university of science and technology believes the United States and Israel are targeting symbols of Iran’s progress as a nation, not just the ruling establishment.

Tehran’s Sharif University of Technology was bombed on Monday, destroying and damaging several buildings, including what authorities described as the Artificial Intelligence Center, which houses key databases. The university’s website and other online services have been disabled.

“We believe that the enemy targeted these buildings and destroyed all the infrastructure because he did not want us to develop AI technology,” said university president Masoud Tajrishi, adding that the college has been working on training AI models in Persian for two years and has provided services to hundreds of companies.
