Top executive of Amazon Web Services Inc., Teresa Carlson, joined big data analytics firm Splunk Inc. earlier this morning in the newly created role of President and Chief Growth Officer.
Carlson will report to Doug Merritt, Splunk’s chief executive officer, and will work closely with Splunk’s sales, customer success and marketing executives to align and drive the company’s ongoing business transformations in Splunk’s go-to-market segments.
In a statement, she said she “wants to deliver exciting cloud and data solutions to global customers in all industries”. A Splunk spokeswoman said she will report directly to Merritt and will work closely with Claire Hockin, the chief marketing officer, John Sabino and Christian Smith, the chief revenue officer, who will all report back to her.
