At 6 a.m. EST on Tuesday, thousands of employees at Oracle woke up to find their jobs had already ended.
In an email signed only “Oracle Leadership,” employees were informed that their positions had been eliminated, effective immediately. There was no prior warning from managers or HR. Within hours, access to company systems, including emails and internal files, was blocked while details of the severance package were promised via DocuSign.
“We share some difficult news regarding your position,” the message said. “After careful consideration of Oracle’s current business needs, we have decided to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change. Therefore, today is your last day of work.”
Employees were instructed to provide personal email addresses to receive separation documents. Unvested stock awards expired immediately.
The impact of the cuts on Oracle’s operations in Israel remains unclear. The company employs around 500 people nationwide.
