Times of India reports on scam involving Goldman Sachs, Ozy Media, YouTube Originals executive and fake conference call worth million, with Google CEO Sundar Pichai testifying.

In recent events, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai testified in the fraud trial of Ozy Media Inc co-founder Carlos Watson, denying claims that Google intended to acquire the startup. Prosecutors allege that Watson misled investors about Ozy’s success, including falsely claiming that Google offered to buy the company for hundreds of millions of dollars. Ozy Media collapsed in 2021 after a scheme was exposed involving a fake Google executive on a call with Goldman Sachs bankers. Pichai stated that Google never considered buying Ozy but did explore hiring Watson. Prosecutors claim Watson used the fake offer from Google to secure additional investment. Witnesses, including Goldman Sachs bankers and Ozy’s former chief of staff, testified about the deception. The trial is ongoing.
