After years of political back and forth TikTok is finally setting firm guidelines for its future in the USA. According to a Bloomberg report citing an internal memo from CEO Shou Chew, the short video platform has signed binding agreements to form a new US-based joint venture that will be majority owned by American investors.

oracle (NYSE:ORCL) emerges as the deal’s anchor partner, leading a group of buyers that also includes Abu Dhabi-based Silver Lake and MGX. Each will hold a 15% stake. The transaction is expected to close on January 22, 2026, subject to final approvals. Subsidiaries of existing ByteDance investors will own 30.1%, while ByteDance itself will retain a 19.9% ​​stake, reducing its influence without fully stepping away.
