If you are a hesitant, TikTok may be the most used app on your phone. As an endless stream of videos algorithmically selected just for you, you can easily lose countless hours scrolling through it. Of course, this only works if the app actually works. A major outage affects TikTok users around the world even though the service is already working on a solution.
According to Down detector (above 9to5Google), TikTok started problems sometime this afternoon around 3 p.m. EDT. The service confirmed an outage about an hour and a half later via its support account on Twitter and announced that it was working on a solution. Some users were unable to load videos while others can view uploads, but other areas of the app are missing.
The TikTok app is currently experiencing a number of issues that our team is working on to resolve. Thanks for your patience!

Personally, I can still upload and browse videos on TikTok even though comments and profiles are not loading properly. With a bit of luck, it won’t take long before the app is up and running again.
