Thousands protest along Oracle Road in Tucson in the “No Kings” demonstration

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Thousands gathered across southern Arizona as part of a statewide No Kings demonstration, voicing their thoughts on the current administration.

Protesters filled the streets of Oracle and Wetmore, holding signs opposing high gas prices, the war in Iran and the Trump administration’s immigration policies. Organizers staged an eight-mile day of action from Tucson to Oro Valley along Oracle Road.

There were also protests at the Speedway and Country Club, as well as Sarasota Boulevard and Kinney Road. Many protesters say the country is moving in the wrong direction and they fear for democracy.

“The things America stands for are not the things Trump stands for,” Fred Curry said. “If you abandon this country, go somewhere else. America has always been the land of the free, wanting to help all people.”
