When it comes to long life Samsung may have just set a new marker – at least where microSD cards be involved.
The company has introduced PRO Endurance, a microSD card that aims to meet the needs of surveillance cameras, dashboard camera systems, doorbell cameras and body cameras.
The PRO Endurance card is equipped with Samsung’s enterprise-class NAND flash memory and can provide up to 16 years (140,160 hours) of continuous recording time, according to the company.

“From CCTV to doorbell cameras, the need for durable and high-performance video surveillance solutions continues to grow, and the PRO Endurance is designed to support that demand.” called KyuYoung Lee, Vice President of Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics.
Samsung claims that a single PRO Endurance card can last as long as up to 33 existing standard cards in a constantly recording security camera. Such durability ensures that the cards do not need to be replaced often, and also always provides video surveillance, whether indoors or from a vehicle’s dashboard.
Samsung also claims that the new card is reliable in harsh and hostile environments (e.g. blistering heat from vehicles). In addition to protection from water, magnets, X-rays and extreme temperatures, the card is also wear-resistant and drop-proof
“Both consumers and business users can rest assured that our new memory card will ensure continuous high-resolution recording even under extreme conditions,” said Samsung.
The new memory card from Samsung also offers read and write speeds of up to 100 megabytes per second (MB/s) and 40 MB/s. It is rated Class 10 and has a video rating of up to UHS Speed Class 3, making it ideal for handling large, high-resolution files while still allowing for seamless Full HD and 4K capture and playback.
The card is available in four different storage capacities of 32 gigabytes (GB), 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
