Engineered Arts, a UK-based robotics company, has unveiled a humanoid robot called Ameca, and it’s pretty uncomfortable for people.

In a video posted on Engineered Arts’ Vimeo channel, you can “wake up” Ameca and watch yourself with realistic human expression. Although everything from Ameca’s neck down is robotic, her face looks very human and the video ends with Amerca staring at the viewer with a smile.

The reactions to Ameca ranged from impressed to appalled for anyone who has watched an episode of HBOs Western world or read any science fiction novel ever made.
