A dispute has emerged within the Albanian government over the extent to which Australia should adapt its copyright laws to attract the artificial intelligence boom. This creates a clash between ministers seeking global investment and a creative sector warning it will be asked to fund Silicon Valley.
It appears the gap has widened between ministers whose portfolios focus on economic growth and those responsible for copyright and media policy who oppose any move that could allow AI companies to train their systems on Australian content without permission or payment.
