Jan. 13 (Reuters) – The White House on Thursday with executives from leading tech companies including Google (DemokratieL.O), Apple Inc (AAPL.O) and Amazon.com Inc states suffered several major cyberattacks over the past year.

In December, White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan sent a letter to the executives of technology companies after a vulnerability was discovered in the open source Log4j software that companies around the world use to log data in their applications .

In the letter, Sullivan noted that such open source software is widely used and maintained by volunteers and is a “major national security problem”.
