I’I’m not entirely sure why the word “slop” has become synonymous with the current wave of AI, but I’m sure etymologists (now or in the distant future) will come up with fascinating research on the topic. slut: It means both the boring informality of AI content (art that looks like this at the same time all art and NO art) and also has the Dickensian feel of serving large quantities of porridge, almost without consent. “Do I understand that he asked for more after eating the dinner provided for in the diet?” Mr. Limbkins inquires in disbelief after Oliver Twist asks for his extra slop. “This boy will be hanged!”
It’s an apt word, but I’ve been thinking about another, different description for AI content lately: the TsunamAI.
