Australia’s advanced technology industry body has called for greater consultation between government and industry on the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce, as its new research found industry leaders believe Australia is ill-prepared to reap the benefits of the technology.
Tech Council of Australia director of policy and government affairs Lucinda Longcroft said tech industry giants needed fewer barriers and more regulatory clarity to invest in more AI infrastructure such as data centers in Australia. The survey found only 7 percent of technology leaders believe Australia is well prepared for future AI needs.
