We’re still hearing from that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, but another rumor has it that a new foldable Samsung is on the horizon: a tri-fold tablet that could be out as early as next year.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Tab, as the device is supposedly called, supposedly has two hinges and three folding segments, like some of the concepts we’ve seen TCLZ-shaped model. The alleged model from Samsung is specifically referred to as a tablet. So it’s unclear if it’s a device that folds small enough to fit a phone form factor and has the mobile connectivity that works like a handset.
The info was first reported by GizmoChina about tipster Yogeshwho didn’t provide too many other details about the Samsung Z Fold Tab other than that it will have better Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) than the current generation displays on the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold 2. We could see this UTG first on the Z-fold 3 in front of the Z-fold tab. Likewise, the folding tablet will supposedly support a Bluetooth-enabled version of the S Pen pen, which will come with the Z Fold 3 first.
Samsung’s first tri-fold, the Galaxy Z Tab, is slated for the first quarter of 22. You can find more information about this product here. # GalaxyZTabhttps: //t.co/463aimzJazApril 15, 2021
According to Yogesh, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Tab could be teased at the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and / or Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 launch event, which is supposed to take place in August 2021, before finally being released in the first quarter of 2022.
Samsung’s foldable future
As always, take this leak with a grain of salt, especially with a relatively unknown tipster and product we haven’t heard of yet.
But flexible displays are certainly a niche that Phonemaker continues to invest in, including Samsung, which brought out the first foldable multi-market mainstream with the original Samsung Galaxy Fold, and apparently soon to announce the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. I hear so much about it (it can be called Z fold 3 above that there won’t be any over the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 S pin slot, and so on).
And with rollables slated to hit the mainstream phone market in the next year or two, according to to TCL, new devices in unique form factors like the TCL Fold ‘n Roll will keep coming out. With that in mind, a large, multi-hinge foldable tablet like the Samsung Z Fold Tab doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
