Nintendo has released a new update for the Switch that makes it easier to patch games when your storage is full.

Here are the Sticky notes for version 12.1.0:

Eurogamer News Cast: Who Won E3 2021?

  • If there is not enough space on the system memory (internal storage) or microSD card when downloading game software update data, you can now delete old data for this software so that you can download the new data.
  • If you delete the old data, you will not be able to play the game until the new data has been downloaded.
  • General system stability improvements have been made to improve the user experience.

So a small update for Switch, but a useful one. Prior to this update, users sometimes had to delete games to make room for large patches.

Users report that a Joy-Con update is also live – although there are no patch notes for it. To update your Joy-Cons, go to System Settings, then Controllers and Sensors, and then Controllers.
