What do frozen French fries have to do with artificial intelligence?
More than you might think.
When French fries come out of the fryer, they have to be cooled and frozen, fast. As they move through that process, heat, airflow, moisture, and temperature all influence the final quality of the product and how much can move through the production line.
In one manufacturing environment, a digital twin continuously analyzed those changing conditions and automatically adjusted the process in real time: slowing the line, changing airflow, or raising the temperature as conditions shifted. The result was better yield, higher throughput, and lower energy consumption.
No single adjustment transformed the operation, hundreds of operational decisions did.
