NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 flagship graphics card is rumored to feature the GB202 “Blackwell” GPU, which is said to be a “physically monolithic” chip. This marks a departure from NVIDIA’s previous chiplet design for its HPC and AI GPUs, indicating a shift towards a physically monolithic GPU design for its gaming-focused RTX 50 series GPUs.

The GB202 GPU is expected to power the GeForce RTX 5090 with up to 192 SMs, resulting in a massive 24,567 CUDA cores. Additionally, the RTX 5090 is rumored to come equipped with 32GB of next-generation GDDR7 memory for improved performance.

On the other hand, NVIDIA’s GB203 “Blackwell” GPU, which is anticipated to feature a similar number of CUDA cores as the AD103 “Ada Lovelace” GPU found in the RTX 4080, is expected to offer performance enhancements compared to its predecessor.
