The Google Assistant last received one visual update of the user interface This updated Google Assistant UI is simpler, more compact, and adapts to the phone’s dark theme settings as long as it’s on or off. A new report shows that a new update to the Google Assistant UI may come in the form of a more colorful look.
XDA developer Tipper Matthew Pirszel discovered a new change to the look and feel of the Google Assistant that made it more colorful. In the Google Assistant, both blues and greens were applied to the background depending on whether the light or dark theme was turned on. However, it wasn’t clear why Google chose these colors.
XDA suspects that this could be a precursor to the “Monet” theme of Android 12, which selects colors from a user’s background image and applies them to various elements in the user interface. According to XDAThe Monet theming system will automatically change the notification background color and the accent color of the quick settings, as well as the Settings page and lock screen.
Priszel was even able to activate a previously rumored feature called “My Actions” that allowed users to trigger frequently used queries with a single touch of a button. XDA notes that these features could not be unlocked on a Pixel 4 with the same firmware version. The features will appear on a Sony Xperia device, but no explicit mention is made of which.
