Motorola has introduced a new tracking device called Moto Tag that joins Google’s Find My Device network. This circular device offers various functions, including linking to Google’s location tag network to help users locate their lost items from miles away using encrypted pings from nearby Android phones. The Moto Tag does not have UWB capability, unlike other trackers, but it is designed to work with third-party accessories compatible with Apple’s AirTag. Additionally, it is water and dust resistant to IP67 rating for added convenience.

The Moto Tag features a button for pairing with a phone, pinging it if necessary, and taking remote photos. It was launched alongside the Motorola Razr and Razr+ smartphones, which include a remote shutter button feature when folded and propped up. The Moto Tag is set to be released on August 2 at a price of $29.99, with a 4-pack option available for $99.99. However, UWB functionality in the Find My Device app will not be available initially.
