According to a PwC survey of 4,454 business leaders, more than half of CEOs report that despite massive investments in the technology, they are not seeing increased revenue or reduced costs through AI.

The findings further debunk the hype surrounding AI and the supposed benefits it brings to businesses, although the report warns: “We are clearly in the early stages of the AI era.”

Only 12 percent reported both lower costs and increased revenue, while 56 percent saw neither benefit. 26 percent saw lower costs, but almost as many saw cost increases.

The acceptance of AI remains limited. Even in top use cases like demand generation (22 percent), support services (20 percent), and product development (19 percent), only a minority are using AI at scale.
