It is iPhone 14 Day! Today – September 16th – is the day the iPhone 14 actually ships, so those who ordered early may get it today. The same goes for the iPhone 14 pro and the iPhone 14 pro maxbut not the iPhone 14Pluswhich will be delivered on October 7th.
Don’t expect to be able to just walk into an Apple Store and buy one, though — if you haven’t placed an order yet, you could be waiting weeks to get your hands on an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max.
In the US, Apple is citing a delivery time of 3-4 weeks for the iPhone 14 Pro and 4-5 weeks for the iPhone 14 Pro Max at the time of writing. The standard iPhone 14 is a lot easier to get with no delays listed for it at the moment, suggesting it could be less popular – which is no surprise as it’s hardly an upgrade iPhone 13 in most cases.
The situation is similar in the UK, with delivery estimates of October 19-26 for the iPhone 14 Pro at the time of writing and October 26-November 2 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 14 is there too slight shipping delays, with an estimate currently as of September 22nd.
In Australia it is currently 4-5 weeks for an iPhone 14 Pro, 5-6 weeks for an iPhone 14 Pro Max and just two business days for an iPhone 14.
The data can also continue to shift. So if you’re interested in something other than the standard model, we’d recommend placing your order now – especially since our iPhone 14 reviews are now live, so you can read exactly how good these phones are.
Analysis: Delays even with early orders
Even if you have pre-ordered an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, you may have to wait a while before you receive it. Shipping estimates for many buyers were at weeks even on order-opening day – and if that affected you, you probably already have an idea of when you should receive the phone.
But even some of those who were told they were likely to get their phone today have since been informed of delays.
A series of social media posts discovered by 9to5Mac (opens in new tab) View orders that originally had an estimate of September 16th and were pushed back to September 23rd or September 30th at the last minute. Therefore, check if your own estimated delivery has changed.
It is possible that there will be other delays as well – both for these orders and for those for which delivery weeks have already been stated.
Still, these phones should be worth the wait. We gave the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max 4.5 stars each, and even the standard iPhone 14 got four stars. Of course, everyone is one of them best iPhones.
