Adopting AI is an exciting prospect for most companies, but it can also be worrying. AI is changing the way we work at a speed few expected, leading some to fear that change is happening faster than they can keep up or that automation will make their roles redundant.

Perhaps the greater challenge is that we have only seen the beginning. Right now, AI feels like the Internet in 1997 – full of potential that has not yet been realized. The fear is understandable, especially given the headlines about disruption and job losses. But fear doesn’t have to be the default setting. Trust comes from learning and experimenting, not avoidance.

AI will continue to feel like a threat until companies build trust and give employees the opportunity to learn, apply and expand their skills.
