In order to strengthen the power grid for the influx of green energy sources, the country’s electricity system needs to be modernized. An alliance of utilities and companies called on the federal government to provide at least $ 50 billion in economic funds for the technology upgrades.
The group, called the GridWise Alliance, formed a special council last month to recommend solutions for modernizing the national network.
