the Google Pixel 6 Pioneered a range of camera features such as Face Unblur, Magic Eraser, and Action Pan. These features are exclusive to the Pixel 6 as far as we can tell, but there have been some other quality of life improvements as well. Features like the ability to change the exposure and “Timer Light” have also been added, and now you can get these features on older Google Pixel smartphones. Google Camera 8.4 is available and can now be downloaded to your smartphone.

This update for Google Camera is not yet available on the Google Play Store for most users, but you can download it from APK mirror. I sideloaded it on my Google Pixel 5 and it crashed repeatedly, but it worked fine on my Google Pixel 4a. Your mileage can therefore vary.

Both Timer Light and the ability to change the exposure were introduced on the Google Pixel 6. You can turn off the exposure option if you’d prefer to let the phone do the work for you and have a tidy camera viewfinder, but it’s always nice to have more gaming options. Timer Light uses the flash on the back of your phone as a countdown.

Finally, the arrow below that shuts down settings has also been changed to show either an adjustment gear or a crescent moon when the auto night vision feature is on. This makes it clearer for users to know where to turn off their night vision device or access their camera’s settings if they want. Due to the left punch hole in the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a, this was moved to the center instead of to the left as in the Pixel 6 series.

While some of the other Pixel 6 features are unlikely to appear on these older devices, you can anyway Get Pixel 6’s Magic Eraser on older pixels thanks to Google Photos. Let us know in the comments if you are getting the latest Google Camera update from the site and if it works for you or not.
