Sunlight is run by an early pioneer and is based in Cambridge. It has the potential to become the gold standard in virtualization.
In late 2020, Sunlight closed a $ 6 million Series A financing round led by OpenOcean and Robert Bosch Venture Capital. These funds will be used by the Cambridge-based startup to support growth in 2021.
“We are expanding our business. These are exciting times for us, ”said founder and CEO Julian Chesterfield.
Sunlight develops virtualization technology for data-intensive applications such as artificial intelligence, analytics and big data.
“The need for sunlight has arisen from the combination of cloud adoption and migration – whether public, private or hybrid – along with a growing class of extremely data-intensive applications such as drone image processing. Increasingly, data must be processed in real time at the edge of the network at a significant cost to businesses, ”said Chesterfield.
