In late 2020, Sunlight closed a $ 6 million Series A financing round led by OpenOcean and Robert Bosch Venture Capital. These funds will be used by the Cambridge-based startup to support growth in 2021.

“The need for sunlight has arisen from the combination of cloud adoption and migration – whether public, private or hybrid – along with a growing class of extremely data-intensive applications such as drone image processing. Increasingly, data must be processed in real time at the edge of the network at a significant cost to businesses, ”said Chesterfield.
