The City of Atlanta, Georgia, USA, will implement Oracle Permitting and Licensing (OPAL) to upgrade its municipal planning, zoning, permitting, code enforcement and inspection services.
This decision expands the City’s collaboration with Oracle and Deloitte and builds on previous deployments of Oracle’s cloud-based finance and human resources applications.
Officials want to replace aging systems to handle expected increases in demand as Atlanta’s population is expected to grow 30% by 2050.
By moving the approval processes to a uniform cloud platform, the city wants to create a uniform system for government operations.
The platform is intended to automate workflows, improve transparency for employees, companies and residents and reduce delays in approvals.
