Mullvad VPN

Mullvad is based in Sweden and I first noticed his early support for WireGuard, on faster protocol for tunneling VPN traffic.

Another thing I like is Mullvad’s system of accepting cash payments. If you’d rather remain completely anonymous, you can create a random account number, write this number on a piece of paper and send it to Sweden along with cash. In theory, nobody can connect you to this account. (The truly paranoid dons an aluminum foil hat, wears gloves, prints from a public printer, and sends from a remote mailbox.)

Aside from these fringe features, Mullvad offers a down to earth VPN service that doesn’t outsmart marketing and helps users take extra steps to protect their privacy. For example, the company has an entire page that shows you how to do it Disable WebRTC in your web browser. As long as WebRTC is enabled (and enabled by default in most browsers), websites can display your actual IP address …
