Dec 3 (Reuters) – An acute global shortage of memory chips is forcing artificial intelligence and consumer electronics companies to fight for dwindling supplies, while prices for the unassuming but essential components that allow devices to store data are soaring.
Japanese electronics stores have started limiting the number of hard drives shoppers can buy. Chinese smartphone manufacturers warn of price increases.
