Telefónica Tech and Cisco collaborate on SD-WAN, security service


The SD-WAN offering will initially be launched in Spain and then expanded to other European and Latin American markets

Telefónica Tech, the digital business unit of Telefónica, and Cisco announced at this year’s RSA conference a strategic alliance and a new global managed service that includes integrated connectivity and security offerings for large enterprises and SMBs. Comprised of software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), security and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architectures, the service will help these organizations connect across data centers, branch offices and remote employee locations.

SD-WAN is a virtual WAN architecture that can work with various network transport services, including broadband. SD-WAN centralizes network control, management, delivery and security for improved agility and flexibility.
