Telecom Egypt partners with Huawei for cloud computing

(Ecofin Agency) – Telecom Egypt signed a partnership agreement with Huawei the first day of the Mobile World Congress, which was launched on February 25, 2019, in Barcelona, for cloud computing.

According to the Egyptian minister of communication and information technology Amr Talaat, the agreement allows Huawei to develop its own cloud computing system via Telecom Egypt’s data centers.

Adel Hamed, managing director of Telecom Egypt, indicated that this agreement is the first ever made by the incumbent operator and is a revolution in the digital transformation. He also explained that the partnership between Telecom Egypt and Huawei falls within the framework of the state-owned firm’s strategy to cooperate with large firms for national and regional development by creating new revenue sources.
