HPE Discover 2024 took place in Las Vegas in June with a focus on AI and the networking industry. The event merged the HPE Aruba Atmosphere with the Discover program, attracting 2,500 networking attendees and showcasing HPE’s broader portfolio to the Aruba Airheads community. HPE emphasized the importance of networking in enterprise IT and highlighted its confidence in the HPE Aruba portfolio as a foundation for the future.

Phil Mottram, EVP of HPE Intelligent Edge/Aruba Networking, outlined the vision of delivering an AI-powered network with top-notch security from edge to cloud. Product details were shared, including advancements in wireless networks like the introduction of Wi-Fi 7 and improvements in location services for accuracy and monitoring of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices. HPE also discussed the integration of Wi-Fi and private 5G for challenging environments.

The event also focused on upgrading network infrastructure for AI workloads with the launch of the 8TbE 9300S data center switch. Additionally, HPE introduced new capabilities for AI networks like GenAI wizards, automated security policies, and network optimizers coming later this year.

Operations ramp was another key highlight, with the acquisition of OpsRamp providing a strategic platform for cross-domain operations and observability within the HPE GreenLake portfolio. OpsRamp will integrate network traffic flow support and be integrated into ArubaCentral to offer multi-vendor network management capabilities.

HPE Aruba’s commitment to security was underscored, with tight integration of SSE capabilities from the Axis Security acquisition. The company launched fully integrated SD-WAN/SSE solutions and a ZTNA solution, with plans for dynamic role-based segmentation and improved user experience for Internet-only access in the near future.

Overall, the event positioned HPE Aruba Networking as a leader in the market with a strong focus on AI and networking strategies. The company is poised for growth in key areas like Wi-Fi 7, P5G, and secure access networking, with the pending Juniper acquisition expected to further impact their offerings in the coming years.
