The Tech Oversight Project, which kicks off Tuesday, plans to introduce “campaign-like” tactics to get lawmakers to pass competition laws for the tech industry. The project is mainly funded by the Omidyar Network, a philanthropic venture launched by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar that has called for more regulation of the tech industry, and the advocacy arm of the Economic Security Project, a nonprofit led by Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, which launched the breakup the social network he helped create.
