Former Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft executive Teresa Carlson will take on the new role of President and Chief Growth Officer at Splunk on April 19. She is currently Vice President of Global Public Sector and Industry at AWS.
Carlson was promoted last year after another AWS Vice President Mike Clayville left. At Amazon, she was responsible for global public sector operations and sales to the healthcare and finance industries. Prior to joining AWS, she worked for Microsoft for nine years, leading sales to federal agencies.
Splunk is a publicly traded big data company based in San Francisco with more than 6,000 employees worldwide. The company’s revenue for the full year ended January 31st decreased 5% to $ 2.23 billion.
