Tech layoffs 2026: Tracking the job losses across Microsoft, Netflix, Electronic Arts, eBay, Apple, Meta and others

We’ve only got a couple months left in 2026, but unfortunately we didn’t get here without a ton of tech layoffs. In June, 14,000 job cuts happened at EV automaker Lucid, game developer Bungie, trading platform company Robinhood and others. Microsoft‘s round of layoffs in July affected 4,800 jobs — mostly across its Xbox gaming division. Shortly after, companies including Samsung, Amazon, Uber and Monday.com followed suit.

According to many reports, the U.S. is at the center of these job cuts. Oracle has had the biggest impact on layoffs this year so far. The annual financial disclosure the company filed on June 23 showed the software giant cut 21,000 jobs over the past year, roughly 13% of its workforce.

“The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing.
