Google is the company developing a $1 billion, 300,000-square-foot data center at the Port of Little Rock, sources confirmed this week.
Google has not formally announced its involvement in the project. The internet search giant, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., is building a $4 billion data center campus in West Memphis.
A similar $1 billion, 300,000-square-foot data center in the works in Conway. Jack Thomas, vice president for economic development at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, told the Democrat-Gazette in August it is ostensibly part of a “multi-location investment.”
Jamie Gates, executive vice president of the Conway Chamber of Commerce, declined to comment.
