According to new data from digital analytics firm Similarweb, Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok has moved up to third place among the world’s most visited generative AI platforms, overtaking rival DeepSeek in web traffic measurements.
As first reported by ForbesSimilarweb estimates Grok received about 314 million web visits in January 2026, compared to about 298 million for DeepSeek. This move puts Grok in third place globally, behind OpenAI’s ChatGPT (unlisted: OPAI) and Google’s Gemini.
The numbers reflect traffic to chatbot websites and not usage via mobile apps, APIs or third-party integrations. Still, they provide a useful overview of where users consciously access AI tools – and how competitive the field has become.
